Our Story
The Story Behind Twish
I was born and raised in Kerala, a land where nature is not just a backdrop, but a way of life. Surrounded by lush greenery and the gentle hum of monsoons, I grew up in a home where simplicity and minimalism guided every aspect of living. Medicines were reserved for true emergencies; for everything else, we turned to nature. Herbal oils, kitchen remedies, and the wisdom of generations kept us healthy and happy.
When I moved to cities and eventually to the US, I was struck by how different things were. Store shelves overflowed with products boasting complex ingredient lists—many of which I couldn’t even pronounce. It felt like every solution was wrapped in layers of chemicals, far removed from the simple, effective remedies I knew as a child.
Despite the abundance of choices, I stuck to my roots. I crafted my own creams and balms, relying on the tried-and-true recipes from home. But it wasn’t until I became a parent that the stakes felt higher. Suddenly, I was responsible for the well-being of my children, and I became more vigilant about what went on their skin.
One moment stands out vividly: the day my kids needed deodorant. I scoured the aisles, but every product was an antiperspirant loaded with unnecessary chemicals. I couldn’t help but wonder—why were we so eager to stop something as natural and vital as sweating? Sweating is our body’s way of detoxifying, of keeping us healthy. The real problem wasn’t sweating; it was the odor.
That realization sparked my curiosity and set me on a path of research and experimentation. I crafted my first homemade deodorant, using simple, natural ingredients. It worked beautifully. Soon, I was sharing it with family and friends, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.
As I continued on this journey, I realized something profound: my products weren’t just natural—they were effective. I started receiving compliments about my glowing skin and how I seemed to look younger by the day. It became clear that I had something special, and I felt a growing desire to share these benefits with a wider community.
Being an engineer, I’m naturally curious and driven to find simple, elegant solutions to everyday problems. At the same time, I have a deep respect for ancient wisdom, always collecting words of advice from elders and blending them with my own deeper research. This unique combination of curiosity, technical rigor, and reverence for tradition became the foundation of my formulations.
One of the most magical discoveries I’ve made is magnesium cream. I first tried it myself and was amazed by how quickly it eased my foot cramps and dramatically improved my sleep quality. Encouraged by the results, I shared a sample with my mother-in-law, who suffers from neuropathy and restless legs. To our delight, she experienced significant relief. Soon, I found myself offering samples to everyone I met. My runner friends were thrilled, raving about how it instantly soothed their muscle fatigue and sped up recovery. One client found comfort from perimenopausal cramps, while a friend who works long shifts in the field called it a “life-changer” after it erased his chronic pain. Another friend told me she slept like a baby for the first time in days. The list of success stories kept growing, each one reaffirming the remarkable benefits of this simple yet powerful remedy.
Each story filled me with immense satisfaction and purpose. Seeing the impact my products had on others’ lives fueled my motivation to create my brand Twish and take it to the wider community. To me, Twish isn’t just a brand—it’s a movement towards mindful, nature-inspired living, powered by both ancient wisdom and modern curiosity.
Twish is my way of giving back—a reminder that sometimes, the simplest solutions are the most powerful, and that nature’s gifts, when respected and understood, can truly transform lives.
